Western Province Hockey Union are the custodians of hockey in the Cape Town and surrounding areas, and is one of the 18 provinces and affiliates that make up the South African Hockey Association. With offices in Hartleyvale Stadium in Observatory, the union regulates the administration, development and coordination of the sport and its activities, which include outdoor, indoor and summer leagues. There are 32 clubs affiliated to the union with a membership of about 5 000.
