Western Province Athletics are responsible for the development and promotion of the athletics in Cape Town and in the Western Cape at large. Based in Green Point, at the Green Point Athletics Stadium, the body regulates all kinds of races, from track and field, road running, cross country and race walking. The organisation has clubs across the province and is probably among the biggest sporting codes with a membership estimated to 17 000 club members. WPA’s mission is to contribute towards the development and transformation of Society, through the Development of Athletics from Grassroots to the highest levels of Excellence
